In 1947, Toshio Iue founded the enterprise SANYO in order to produce bicycle dynamos and quickly became Japan's market leader with this product. Later, radios, televisions, washing machines, ventilators and air conditioning systems were been developed and manufactured, and the enterprise grew into a multinational company.
Today with its 77 production sites, 35 sales organisations and 27 other companies. SANYO is represented worldwide in 27 countries and therefore is one of the 15 largest electronic companies in the world. In total about 70,000 people are working for the SANYO Electric Co.,Ltd.
SANYO can be translated as "three oceans" and therefore expresses the company's aim: to produce and distribute SANYO products for people from all continents in order to meet the demands of the people and to make life more comfortable with a diverse products portfolio.
Respecting the environment and an active protection of nature are fixed parts of our company policy. Our products and actions are proof of this: The voluntary and complete stop of CFC usage, the development and usage of environmentally friendly technologies - as solar energy, rechargeable batteries, cars run with gas etc.
